La historia para la nueva producción de Universal Pictures e Illumination Entertainment, Minions, tiene sus inicios en el amanecer de los tiempos.
Comenzando a desarrollarse a partir de pequeños organismos unicelulares, los Minions, evolucionan a lo largo de las diferentes épocas, siempre sirviendo a malvados maestros. Sin embargo, y a raiz de su torpeza, los Minions, siempre terminaban matando a cada uno de ellos, desde el Tiranosaurio Rex hasta Napoleón.
Todas estas tragedias desembocan en una gran depresión, que obliga a Kevin, Stuart y Bob a embarcarse en una aventura para encontrar un nuevo villano…
