Es 2331, 17 años después de la desaparición del último árbol, y 49 del último animal, y sólo un pequeño grupo de humanos vive aún en el planeta, en una ciudad fortificada llamada Sumer.

Sumer es un corto de animación 3D dirigdo por Álvaro García que muestra cómo la Tierra, en el transcurso de un par de siglos, ha pasado a ser un mundo completamente inhabitable, con sus ecosistemas completamente destruidos y casi sin aire para respirar.
